The root -- La racine

Don’t investigate the root of things,
Investigate the root of mind!
Once the mind’s root has been found,
You’ll know one thing, yet all is thereby freed.
But if the root of mind you fail to find,
Even if you know everything, you will understand nothing.

Ne recherche pas la racine des choses,

Recherche la racine de l'esprit!

Une fois la racine de l'esprit trouvée,

Tu connaîtras une chose et cependant tout sera libéré.

Mais si tu échoues à découvrir la nature de l'esprit,

Quand bien même tu connaîtrais tout, tu ne comprendrais rien.
