Most human beings are carrying a false perception of life and of themselves, primarily holding a limited identity of being mere ‘persons’. But we are much more than what the term ‘person’ implies. We are consciousness, which though formless, manifests as myriad forms, including this present body-mind with all its acquired conditioning, thoughts, emotions, concepts and projections. The consciousness somehow gets temporarily identified with the body and the conditioning that arose in the body, and then believes this limited body-mind construct to be itself. This is called ignorance, and gives rise to delusion because it brings in a very limited notion of consciousness, when in fact consciousness is infinitely broader than any construct. Therefore, recognizing the error and ‘waking up’ from this state of limitation into our original, unbound state is called enlightenment.
La plupart des humains véhiculent une perception fausse de la vie et d'eux-mêmes, essentiellement en s'accrochant à une identité limitée à être une simple 'personne'. Mais nous sommes beaucoup plus que ce que ce terme 'personne' exprime. Nous sommes conscience, qui bien que sans forme, se manifeste sous une myriade de formes qui incluent cet actuel corps-esprit avec tous ses conditionnements acquis, pensées, émotions, concepts et projections. En quelque sorte, la conscience s'identifie temporairement avec le corps et le conditionnement apparu à partir du corps, et elle croit alors qu'elle est que cet assemblage corps-esprit limité. C'est ce qu'on entend par ignorance, et ce qui donne naissance à l'illusion car cela aboutit à une notion très étriquée de la conscience, alors que la conscience est infiniment plus vaste que toute construction. Aussi, reconnaître cette erreur et 'se réveiller' de cet état de limitation dans notre état originel, illimité, c'est ce qu'on nomme illumination.
