This is an attempt to make the short biography of CR Lama included in this blog available to english readers. My apologize for the mistakes and rough style of the english translation.

Youth

C.R. Lama (Khordong Terchen Tulku Tchimé Rigdzin Rinpotché) was born on the full moon day of the fifth month of the water dog year (1922). When he was four years old, the enlightened master Tulku Tsurlo recognized him as the fourth incarnation of the great tertön Nudan Dorje Drophan Lingpa. This was then confirmed by nine high lamas: Zhichen Ogyen Chemchog, Terteun Sogyal, Avam Terteun, Do Khyentse, Sakya Trichen, Dzogchen Pèma Rigdzin, Minling Trichen, Panchen Ertini and the thirteenth Dalaï Lama. Three special Tang-rils (divinations) were performed: papers with the names of the candidates were put in balls of tsampa and put in water. The floating one was supposed to be the good one. On each of these Tang-rils, the name of Tchime Rigdzin came out. Laughing, C. R. Lama told us that some rich families tried to manipulate these divinations (he was just the son of a poor woman abandonned by her husband without any belongings) and for one of the Tang-rils, they managed so that C. R.'s name wasn't put in any ball. But when the floating ball was opened, that's C.R.'s name that was inside. In order to waranty their reliability, the Tang-rils took place in three very auspicious places, including in front of the Jowo statue in Jokhang, Lhassa, and before the assembly of lamas engaged in Dharma protectors practice, at the Khordong main monastery. 

So when he was four years old, C.R. lama was intronised as the holder of the lineage of Nuden Dorje Drophan Lingpa. Dudjom Rinpoche, who died in 1987, was the holder of the other lineage of incarnations coming from the Nuden Dorjes, who are all emanations of Shariputra, one of the main disciples of Buddha Shakyamuni, and Khyechung Lotsawa, one of the 25 main disciples of Guru Padmasambhava. Chime Rigdzin was also recognized as the incarnation of Khechung Lotsa's body, Nanam Dorje Dudjom's speech and Padmasambhava's mind. 

Jeunesse

C.R. Lama (Khordong Terchen Tulkou Tchimé Rigdzin Rinpotché) naquit le jour de la pleine lune du cinquième mois de l'année du chien d'eau (1922). A l'âge de quatre ans, il fut reconnu par le maître réalisé Toulkou Tsurlo comme la quatrième incarnation de Nuden Dordjé Drophan Lingpa. Cela fut ensuite confirmé par neuf grands lamas: Zhichen Ogyen Chemchog, Terteun Sogyal, Avam Terteun, Do Khyentse, Sakya trichen, Dzogchen Pèma Rigdzin, Minling Trichen, Panchen Ertini et le Treizième Dalai Lama. Trois Tang-rils spéciaux (divinations) furent accomplis: on mettait différents noms écrits sur du papier dans des boules de pâte. A chacun de ces Tang-rils, seul le nom de Tchimé Rigdzin restait à la surface du bol d'eau dans lequel les boules étaient placées. En riant, Rinpotché nous racontait à ce propos que les familles riches et puissantes de la région tentaient de favoriser la nomination d'un de leurs enfants (lui était fils d'une pauvre femme, abandonnée par son mari sans aucune possession). Elles avaient pu faire en sorte que lors d'une des divinations préliminaires, le nom de Tchimé Rigdzin ne soit placé dans aucune des boules. Pourtant, lorsqu'on ouvrit la boule surnageante, c'était son nom qui était écrit.

Après tous les rites et divinations, il ne fit donc aucun doute pour personne que c'était bien la vraie incarnation du grand Nuden Dordjé Drophan Lingpa. Les Tang-rils eurent lieu dans trois lieux auspicieux afin de garantir leur efficacité: en face de la statue de Jowo, dans le Jokhang de Lhassa et devant l'assemblée de lamas du monastère de Khordong, engagés dans le puissant rituel des protecteurs.

Tchimé Rigdzin Rinpoché fut donc intrônisé à quatre ans comme détenteur de la lignée de Nuden Dordjé Drophan Lingpa. Sa sainteté Dudjom Rinpotché, qui quitta son corps en janvier 1987, était le détenteur de l'autre lignée d'incarnations venant des Nuden Dordjé, qui sont tous des émanations de Shariputra, l'un des principaux disciples du Bouddha Shakyamouni, et de Khechung Lotsawa, l'un des 25 principaux disciples de Padmasambhava,. Tchimé Rigdzin Rinpoché fut également reconnu comme l'incarnation du corps de Khyétchoung Lotsa, de la parole de Nanam Dordjé Dudjom et de l'esprit de Padmasambhava.
