don't judge -- ne juge pas






Like others, tulkus have emotions too. Look at Marpa the translator, with his incredibly strong emotions blazing like flames. But the moment an experienced meditator looks into the nature of mind, every thought and emotion vanishes like flakes falling on a hot plate. At that moment a meditator is truly free from attachment. Marpa may have treated Milarepa with a lot of abuse, hard words and beatings, but that was totally unlike the anger of an ordinary person in that there wasn't a shred of selfishness involved. You can't judge people by their behavior.

Comme les autres, les tulkus ont des émotions. Regarde Marpa le traducteur, avec ses émotions incroyablement puissantes, ardentes comme le feu. Mais à l'instant où le méditant expérimenté regarde la nature de l'esprit, toute pensée ou émotion s'évanouit comme des flocons de neige sur un plat brûlant. A cet instant, le méditant est réellement sans attachement. Marpa a certainement traité Milarepa avec beaucoup d'insultes, des mots durs et des coups, mais ce fut totalement différent de la colère d'une personne ordinaire en ce qu'il ne s'y trouvait pas le moindre soupçon d'egoisme. Tu ne peux juger les gens à leur comportement.
