The butter lamp offering (2) -- L'offrande des lampes à beurre (2)

So the first butter lamp retreat happened in Bodhgaya during january and february 1992. Only a few people attended as no information was sent in the west after Rinpoche's vision and as it happened only a few weeks later. We had to go to Delhi to buy 3000 lamps, then carry them to Bodhgaya.

Everything was taken care of by Rinpoche's two sons, Tulku Migme Dorje and Tulku Ugyen Chemchog. Ozer (Namgyal) from Tashiding also helped as much as possible, and Gudrun Nathalie, David, Olivier, Patrice  and a few others joined too. The practice, including Marme Monlam and big Rigdzin was held in the Mahabody Society building, Everything went on smoothly and without obstacle and in three weeks, we could burn approximately 140 000 butterlamps (Rinpoche sponsored  111 111 but then everyone wanted also to offfer some.)

Donc la première cérémonie d'offrande de lampes à beurre eut lieu à Bodhgaya au cours des mois de janvier et février 1992. Peu de gens y participèrent car aucune information ne fut envoyée en Europe après la vision de Rinpoche et la cérémonie eut lieu peu de temps après cette vision. Nous dûmes aller à Delhi pour acheter 3000 lampes et les transporter à Bodhgaya.

Les deux fils de Rinpoche, Tulku Migme Dorje et Tulku Ugryen Chemchog prirent en charge toute la logistique. Ozer (Namgyal) de tashiding aida aussi autant que possible et Gudrun, Nathalie, David, Olivier, Patrice et quelques autres participèrent également. La pratique comprenant Marme Monlam et la grande Rigdzin se déroula dans les bâtiments de la Mahabody Society. Tout se passa sans anicroche et sans obstacle et en trois semaines, nous brûlames environ 140 000 lampes à beurre (Rinpoche en sponsorisa 111 000 mais ensuite, tout le monde voulut aussi en offrir).
