like a drop of water -- comme une goutte d'eau

Without meditative concentration, there can be no wisdom,
And without wisdom, there can be no meditative concentration,
So by taking up these two together, the great ocean of saṃsāra
Becomes inconsequential, like a drop of water in a hoof-print.

Sans concentration méditative, il ne peut pas y avoir de sagesse

Et sans sagesse, il ne peut y avoir de concentration méditative

Aussi en recourant aux deux ensemble, le grand océan du samsara

Perd de son importance, comme une goutte d'eau dans l'empreinte d'un sabot.
