the Master's job -- le rôle du maître

"Dudjom Rinpoche demonstrated, again and again, that when a great master directs the blessing of his wisdom mind, something extraordinary and very powerful can take place. All your ordinary thoughts and thinking are disarmed and you arrive face to face with the deeper nature -- the original face -- of your own mind. In Dudjom Rinpoche's words: 'All the stirrings of discursive thoughts melt, dissolve and slip into the expanse of rigpa, your pure awareness, which is like a cloudless sky. All their power and strength is lost to the rigpa awareness.'  At that moment, everything drops, a completely different dimension opens up and you glimpse the sky-like nature of mind. With Dudjom Rinpoche, I came to understand that what the master does through the power and blessing of his realization is to make the naked truth of the teaching come alive in you, connecting you to your buddha nature. And you? You recognize, in a blaze of gratitude, that there is not, and could never be, any separation between the master's widsom mind and the nature of your own mind. Dudjom Rinpoche said just this in his Calling the Lama from afar:

   Since pure awareness of nowness is the real Buddha,
   In openness and contentment I found the Lama in my heart.
   When we realize that this unending natural mind is the very nature of the Lama
   Then there is no need for attached, grasping or weeping prayers or artificial complaints.
   By simply relaxing in this uncontrived, open and natural state,
   We obtain the blessing of aimless self-liberation of whatever arises.

Dudjom Rinpoche a démontré à de nombreuses reprises que lorsqu'un grand maître dirige les bénédictions de son esprit de sagesse, quelque chose très extraordinaire et très puissante peut se produire. Toutes vos pensées et raisonnements ordinaires sont désarmés et vous vous retrouvez face à face avec la nature plus profonde -- le visage originel -- de votre propre esprit. Dans les mots de Dudjom Rinpoche: 'Tous les remous des pensées discursives fondent, se dissolvent et disparaissent dans l'espace de rigpa, votre pure conscience semblable à un ciel sans nuage. Tout leur pouvoir et leur force se perdent dans la conscience rigpa.' A cet instant, tout s'effondre, une dimension complètement différente s'ouvre et vous apercevez la nature de l'esprit semblable au ciel. Avec Dudjom Rinpoche, j'en vins à comprendre que ce que fait le maître grâce au pouvoir et à la bénédiction de sa réalisation, c'est de rendre vivante la vérité nue des enseignements en vous reliant à votre propre nature de Bouddha. Et vous? En un embrasement de gratitude, vous reconnaissez qu'il n'y a et ne peut jamais y avoir aucune séparation entre l'esprit de sagesse du maître et la nature de votre propre esprit. C'est juste ce que dit Dudjom Rinpoche dans son Appel au Lama au loin:

   Comme la pure conscience éveillée de l'instant présent est le véritable Bouddha,
   Dans l'ouverture et le contentement, j'ai découvert le Lama en mon coeur.
   Lorsqu'on réalise que cet esprit naturel incessant est la nature-même du Lama,
   Il n'y a alors aucun besoin de prières avides et tenaces ou de complaintes artificielles.
   En se relaxant simplement en cet état non-fabriqué, ouvert et naturel,
   On obtient la bénédiction où tout ce qui s'élève se libère spontanément et sans destination.
