His master's predictions

When he finished his studies, Tulku Tsurlo gave him seven predictions and important instructions that should govern his life. Here are the words as he received them: "You will have to leave Khordong Gompa when you'll be eighteen and become a wandering practitionner in the mountains of Bhutan, Sikkim and Nepal, then you'll have to make a solitary retreat during three years and six month in Tso pema (Rewalsar, Himachal Pradesh, India, a holy place of Guru Padmasambhava). When 28 years old, you will not defend yourself when you will be attacked by a thief. When you'll be thirty seven, you will fly in the sky. Before you're sixty, you will have to take steps in order to save one of your eyes. You will have to go back to Khordong to give back all the transmissions you received, at a time when there will be a need of your knowledge and your wisdom. You will live 84 years and it's even possible that you live 125 years but this is not sure, depending on cause and conditions (concerning that, C. R. Lama explained us that it would be difficult for him to live 125 years because he couldn't keep a predestined dakini. Even 84 years would be difficult because of different problems related with samayas.)

In the 90's, C.R. Lama commented these predictions: "Until now, the five first revealed to be exact. The third came true when I took a plane to go to Italy on the invitation of the tibetologist Giuseppe Tucci. I followed all these instructions as I was asked to and now I'm sixty five, I'm waiting to check the two last. 

In order to follow the instructions of my very venerable master Tulku Tsurlo, I left my gompa when I was eighteen. It was 11 a.m. the full moon day of the first month of the earth rabbit (1939). After crossing the cold Nyichu river, I looked back at my gompa for the last time. It was very colourful. I was sad because while I was looking, all the good memories came to me: the fellow practitionners, the teachers, my childhood, my disciples and all these years spent to study and practice. This was my lama's instruction that I leave and I was leaving but it was not a wishful departure and a happy heart. My heart was heavy and determined to fulfil the instructions of my Lama. Since then , I have followed his instructions most sincerely and with great care until this day."
One day, Rinpoche told us that during all his journey from Tibet to India, he was followed by a big black crow. "This was an emanation of Mahakala. He escorted me until I reached safely India. Anywhere I go, Mahakala is always with me."

Les prédictions de son maître

A la fin de ses études, Toulkou Tsurlo lui donna sept prédictions et instructions importantes qui devaient le guider dans sa vie. Voici les mots tels qu'il les reçut: "Tu devras quitter Khordong Gompa à l'âge de dix-huit ans et devenir un pratiquant errant dans les terres montagneuses du Bhoutan, du Sikkim et du Népal, puis tu devras faire un retraite solitaire de trois ans et six mois à Tso Pèma (Rewalsar, dans l'Himachal Pradesh, en Inde, un lieu sacré de Guru Padmasambhava). Tu ne devras pas te défendre lorsqu'à vingt-huit ans, tu seras attaqué par un voleur. Tu voleras dans le ciel à l'âge de trente sept ans. Avant l'âge de soixante ans, tu devras faire des démarches pour sauver l'un de tes yeux. Tu devras retourner à Khordong pour redonner toutes les initiations que tu as reçues, à une époque où l'on aura besoin de ta connaissance et de ta sagesse. Tu vivras jusqu'à quatre-vingt quatre ans, et il est même possible que tu vives jusqu'à cent-vingt cinq ans mais ça n'est pas certain. C'est lié à de nombreux autres facteurs. (A ce propos, Tchimé Rigdzin Rinpotché nous expliquait qu'il lui serait difficile de vivre jusqu'à 125 ans, n'ayant pu garder avec lui une dakini prédestinée, et que même 84 ans serait peu probable, du fait de différents problèmes liés aux samayas.)

Dans les années quatre-vingt dix, T. R. Rinpotché commentait ces prédictions en ces termes: "Jusqu'à maintenant, les cinq premières instructions se sont révélées exactes. La troisième s'est réalisée lorsque j'ai pris l'avion pour l'Italie, à l'invitation du tibétologue Giuseppe Tucci. J'ai observé toutes ces instructions comme on me l'a demandé et maintenant, à l'âge de soixante-cinq ans, j'attends de vérifier les deux dernières. 

Afin d'obéir aux instructions de mon très vénéré maître Toulkou Tsurlo, j'ai quitté ma gompa à l'âge de dix-huit ans. Il était onze heures, le jour de la pleine lune du premier mois de l'année du lapin de terre (1939). Après avoir traversé la rivière Nyitchou, je me suis retourné une dernière fois sur ma gompa. C'était très coloré. J'étais triste car alors que je regardais, tous les bons souvenirs affluèrent en moi: les amis pratiquants, les professeurs, mon enfance, mes disciples et toutes ces années passées à étudier et pratiquer spirituellement. C'était l'instruction de mon Lama que je parte, aussi je partais, mais ce n'était pas un départ le coeur joyeux. Mon coeur était très lourd et déterminé à suivre les instructions de mon Lama. Depuis, j'ai suivi ses instructions le plus sincèrement possible et avec grande attention jusqu'à aujourd'hui." Rinpoché nous raconta un jour que durant tout son voyage du Tibet en Inde, il fut accompagné par un gros corbeau noir: "C'était une émanation de Mahakala. Il m'escorta jusqu'à ce que j'atteigne l'Inde sain et sauf. Où que j'aille, Mahakala est toujours avec moi."
